Skills Zone project

What is Skills Zone
Skills Zone is an online learning space incorporating tutorials focusing on helping young people build key critical cognitive and practical skills that are required for University and the world of work. The tutorials were developed by South African Institute for Distance Education in conjunction with eLSI. In 2012 Skills Zone was piloted through a First year Experience site created in conjunction with the First Year Experience team. The First Year Experience Programme is a voluntary program that intends to bridge the gap between high school and University. 2013 sees the launching of the project to all students.
