All the best for your new ventures, Fatima!

It’s with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to Fatima Rahiman

Fatima has been part of the eLearning team since 2009. She started at eLSI as an Instructional Designer and soon after was promoted to Team Leader of Learning Design. For the past 3 years, she has assumed the role of Acting Deputy Director. In this capacity, Fatima has shown her ability to manage projects, communicate effectively and inspire her team members. Her impeccable work ethic, caring and unassuming nature and passion for learning and development make her a true leader. Fatima is an independent, strong woman who has always gone above and beyond the call of duty. One of her best qualities is her integrity – always being true to herself – a quality that sets her apart from others.

Farewell Fatima; the eLSI team will miss you

Rabelani Dagada:  Fatima's contribution to the establishment of the eLearning Unit, her project management of Sakai implementation, and her advocacy for eLeaning adoption was highly valuable.  I miss her already, especially her decency, humble, but confident demeanour, and good human relations.

Derek Moore: Over the past 5 years, Wits has taken massive steps towards ensuring that it can offer a robust enterprise ready learning management system in the form of Wits-e /Sakai. Lots of this progress towards the deployment and growing use of Wits-e/Sakai is attributable to Fatima’s hard work and dedication and her leadership of the Sakai project will be sorely missed.

Dominique Wooldridge: The office quotient of skill, style & humour has taken a serious dive with your departure. It was a pleasure working with you, and I wish you all the best for whatever comes next…

Najma Aghardien: Fatima, my colleague and friend… I admire your courage, strength and tenacity. Academia needs more people like you! You have left a void that is going to very hard to fill.

Shakira Choonara: Thank you for teaching me how to persevere against all odds. You have been a great inspiration.

Antoinette Malgas: Thank you for all your love and support, guidance and teaching. Thank you for your honesty and upfront approach. I know you will do great wherever you go!

Neo Petlele: I am grateful for all your support and nurture in my work development. Wish you all the best in your next journey.

Maanda Mashamba: Thank you for your leadership and every single task that you have given me, I have learnt a lot from them. Wish you all the best.

Liana Meadon: Thank you for your leadership and guidance Fatima – you’ve left big shoes to fill! Please come and visit us again soon.

Nkaba Senne: Thank you for the motherly advice that you gave in abundance; we will surely miss a person of your calibre.
