#WitsSurvey is underway and you can win iPads, iPods and coffee vouchers!

We’re conducting research to understand our students’ use and access of technology until the end of April

The Centre for Learning, Teaching and Development (CLTD) is conducting a study to establish Wits students’ access and use of technology (for learning and personal use). The findings will help the University and CLTD to better understand the technology needs of our students. The research will also inform the review of Wits ICT infrastructure and system needs for learning, teaching and research.

We’re asking questions about what kind of technology students have access to, how often they use it, and how they use it. Since going live with the survey, there has been a very positive response to the survey and the competition.

Win, win, win!

At the end of the survey, students receive information as to how they can enter our competition and stand a chance to win prizes. We have the following prizes to give away for each level of study – 1st year, 2nd year, 3rd year and post-grad students: 1 iPad, 1 iPod and 50 coffee vouchers.

Hurry up and complete the survey to enter our competition - the survey will close on the 30th of April 2015. The winners will be announced on our website and on Social Media. The winners in each level of study will be contacted via email to receive their prizes.

Ethical research principles

Participation in this study is 100% voluntary and confidential. Students have the right at any time to withdraw from the study. The questionnaire will take approximately 15 minutes to complete. The survey is not a test and students can decide to not complete the survey at any time. All collated information will be stored safely and destroyed after the study is completed.

What we’re planning to do with the results

The results of the study will be analysed by Prof Christine Woods (Director of CLTD) and Liana Meadon (eLearning Unit) and reported to the Senate Teaching and Learning Committee and CLTD Advisory Board. A summary of the findings will also be presented to Faculties and students, and posted on the CLTD website.
